>I'm really tired of bringing in supers that afternoon and trying to extract
them that evening with those stray bees flying over head unloading their
load.
Grant, try using cool white tubes above the extractor, and a daylight bulb
elsewhere. Bees will leave the cool whites and group at the daylight tube,
or even a daylight compact fluorescent.
The idea previously mentioned (can't remember who) about replacing the
window screen with a long screen cone works great--leave a hole at the end
just large enough for a bee to escape. Build a platform outside and place a
queenright nuc there to pick up the escapees.
