As I said, or implied previously, gasoline is quick, effective, cheap
and readily available. Unless you folk are still adding nasties to the
stuff it is fine to use.
As much as it pains me to admit it ( I am a soap maker) detergent and
water (strong solution) is better than soapy water.
The gasoline that contacts the bees is virtualy instantaneous, and the
vapour is also very quick if the space is not overly large.
