2-3 minutes?  Anyone who can't light a smoker in 30 seconds or less is not a 
real beekeeper IMO.

My wife is the champ.  20 seconds average.

Could it be from going to the yards with me?

Typical yard visit:

Drive in.
Open the door.
Grab hive tool.
Out of the truck.
Glance at entrances.
Walk to nearest hive of interest.
Off with a lid.
Out with a frame.
"Drat!  Where's that smoker?"
