Its not just commercial beekeepers who may 'feed' to get honey. I've seen
lots of small, backyard beekeepers in coastal climates feeding their bees
all year round. They're often in rainy areas, so they are being good to
their bees. Often wondered about this though, since it would appear that
they're turning syrup into honey. Most years, doesn't appear to be cost
effective - sugar often isn't cheap.
