I discussed the Russian bee import at length with Dr
Shiminuki (Shim) at the
start. I questioned the science behind importing the bees.
"Shim" said the science of understanding why the Russian bee can tolerate
varroa is second to the fact the bee can. Truly words of wisdom. Even today
researchers do not fully understand the why.
Parasitic mite syndrome (PMS) is almost non existent in a Russian hive
whatever the mite load, (personal experience)
Reason yet to be explained.
I would like to see a test where Randy can take a hive of Russian/Russian
bees and make the hive crash with his virus concoction. Does his virus
concoction create a hive with All the described CCD symptoms or simply make
a hive crash?. Bailey documented being able to crash a hive with various
virus concoctions years before CCD.
