My meaning above is there is no strict queen import system in place in
Mexico (like Australia & the U.S.)

Almond needs were what made the OZ import possible. Only packages were
feasible. Same with Argentina, Brazil & Chile.
Imports could come from those countries in the form of queens & packages but
behind the scenes what is being looked at is HIVES to pollinate almonds.
The almond pollination pot is huge. Figure well over a million hives needed
times a $150 fee today. Millions of dollars.
Will be away from the computer for awhile. The news about OZ is not news to
me.
