As someone who deals with bears routinely, this popular suggestion
doesn't appeal to me. What will the bear remember -- the sting of the fence
or that this was a location with lots of good food?
The idea of attracting bear to "teach them" doesn't sit well with me; I
don't even want to be on the bear's radar...
