Hello All,
Kefuss queens have sparked my interest since my friend Kirk Jones told me of
his trip to the apiary and the lack of varroa in the hives.

Sooo.

I did some checking. Samples were obtained of the bees Kefuss runs and were
sent a private DNA lab for testing.

The results were surprising to me and all those which have seen the results.

highest percentage  A m. melifera.

My partners in crime want to ask those U.K. A. m. melifera purists on BEE-L 
*if* they have
tried taking pure A.m. melifera and testing to see how well the bees do with
varroa untreated?

 The source of the above is an Australian beekeeper and his son (the son
worked with and was trained in queen rearing at Kefuss apiary) and a queen
breeder in Italy which sent off and paid for the DNA testing.

I believe Kefuss is aware of the testing and findings .  I have not seen the
findings of the DNA on his bees published but maybe Peter B. can pull up.
maybe the race of his bees is not new news? Don't know.
