I'd be careful about assuming sky high honey super spore counts means that
these spores are infective.
Dr. Cramer, who is working on Nosema, has found that these spores are heat
sensitive, easily killed with 10% bleach solution, and more recently, that
freezing for a short term (days), and refrigeration for long periods
(weeks) all tend to greatly diminish spore viability. For an organism that can
proliferate as fast as it does, its surprises me how hard it is to keep
viable spores around for testing.
