I am using Feed Bee from Walter T. Kelley. I currently am using a 2:1
sugar:water ratio and mix to a moderately tough bread dough texture. I then
divide into small enough balls to flatten into 4" X 4" X 3/4" patties. I put
the ball of "dough" between a folded sheet of wax paper and then flatten to the
above mentioned dimensions. In the past I have used a 1:4 sugar:water ratio as
the wetting agent to form the patties. I try to place the patties directly
above the brood nest. In the past they have been consumed in a timely manner.
When I added a pollen patty to my queen finishing colony I used a 1:1 mixture of
previously trapped pollen and Feed Bee.
