The unsung heroes in my book are the beekeepers who can keep bees without putting at risk their counterparts who use less intensive methods. 

The problem is that the Industrial type beekeepers utilize practices (importing bees, feeding antibiotics preventatively, home brew mite treatments and cross continent movement of bees) that in turn create risks for someone else. 

I would nominate someone like Mike Palmer as an unsung hero before Mr Migratory who brings the latest problems back to his region and adds little to the genetic pool. 

We should be glorifying the sustainable bee, fruit, nut and veggie operations that add to solutions locally and nationally NOT create a never ending stream of issues that they leave for someone else to clean up.
