Hi Bob, your post put a few things together for me.
We are dealing with the Asian Longhorn Beetle here (where they are planning to inject 150,000-650,000 trees with imidacloprid), and Jeff Pettis is running a research study to:
"Determine the expression rates in nectar and pollen of imidacloprid in three tree species and the potential impacts of pesticide residues on pollinators."

...but the bees (at this time of year) are being fed both sugar patties and pollen patties.
Am I crazy? ...or, is it going to be impossible to establish a baseline of contamination of early pollen if the bees are being fed pollen patties (i don't know if it's pollen or if it's a sub)?
