I keep 60 colonies in the marches region of west England UK, when we get a
heavy flow of Ivy honey we always have increased starvation in those
apiaries. I see whole frame stuffed full of crystallised honey and bees head
in the empty cells, classic pose for starved colonies. I did not believe
bees couldn't cope with crystallised honey before I moved here from south
east England. But when the honey is mainly Ivy starvation is a real problem.
