> For any of you whose bees have not had CCD, its just luck.
I read the above and the rest of what you said and thought it very
reasonable. We have been having bee dieoffs recorded for at least a hundred
years now.
I feel very fortunate that in the N Alabama region that we have missed this
scourge.I do not wish it on anybody.
I was raised on a farm and appreciate farmers and those who make their
living from agriculture. My kneejerk reactions against some things like GM
crops has softened as I have observed at least some short term benefits to
the wildlife and bees.
Having said that hopefully to soften the blow against the accusation of
being anti migratory, I do feel that the following question should be at
least faced(maybe it already has):
Are the overwhelming majority of bee dieoffs occurring in migratory
operations or along migratory routes?
If the answer is definitely no, I think this would go a long way in clearing
those who make their living from migratory beekeeping.Nobody should have to
prove their innocence, I just think this would be a practical means of
clearing up some misunderstanding-shedding light on this matter..
Jerry i read your posts as with several others on this list with an open ear
because I have gleaned some real nuggets there, thank you for all your work.
