Maybe we have better quality wood but I have supers from older beekeepers
that are at least 40-60 years old. The latest plantation timbers that we
use I treat with copper naphthenate and have a lot of boxes that are now at
least 22 years old and not showing any signs of decay. The timber I mainly
use is hoop pine (Araucaria cunninghami).
