I would have to say the queen belongs to the hive. They can remove
here at anytime and replace her(as long as drones are present and the
weather is proper). The hive can survive without her longer than she can
survive without the hive. The workers can dictate where she can lay by
arranging the broodnest giving her more or less room. Just because she is
called the "QUEEN" doesn't make her in charge.
