Although I usually just read, I have said it several times in other venues,
as poorly as
I manage my hives, I would give up my bees before I would use Coumaphos.
From what
I have read, although the impact has not found to have been as sever as with
DDT,
organophosphates have a slow clear rate from body fat and I would suspect,
with
continual consumption, even at 4.8 PPB, would build to levels that may cause
neurological
issues, especially in infants and children. As for Bayer saying it would
not happen-what
is their sample size-one hive that had only been treated once. How much wax
and honey
did they test and how long has Coumaphos been used on those hives?
