As you know, at least on the mainland, we can potentialy have a honey
flow at any time of the year. We can also have flows that are pollen
deficient.
So lack of pollen, working/disturbing hives/ removing honey in cold wet
weather, leaving them in wet shady conditions in my autumn conditions
etc. In other words stress in one form or another.
Of course as someone else said- wait till we get varroa.
