Hi Dick
I am not making that assumption, but your point is valid. The reason for
raising defaecation as a route for comb contamination was that we know that
N apis causes bees to contaminate the comb in this way, but that N ceranae
does not. Of course, bees with N ceranae may defaecate on comb for other
reasons, e.g. moving colonies in cold weather or when they have not have a
chance to fly to void in the days just before the move.
