Regarding "scientist-support-letter-for-bumblebee-regulations"
If you look at the letter, the honey bee was carefully not mentioned. Certainly no consideration for it was implied, and based upon Xerxes decidedly anti-honey bee stance, I am highly suspicious. The phrase "the potential for spread of disease from commercially produced bees that are transported throughout the country" certainly could be construed to include honey bees. Further, there is throughout their literature the clear implication that honey bees are "non-native" and therefore of less value than the bees that they may or may not have displaced. This letter expresses support for the petition, which I have not seen yet.
