The above quotes were taken from a discussion of using fondant as an emergency feed during winter. I want to confuse things a bit more by introducing an additional question. I am under the impression that HFC produced via the acid method produces HFC that is very detrimental to bee health. That it is important to use HFC produced via enzyme action. My question is how does that relate to sucrose converted to fructose and glucose? Does the acid method also produce simpler sugars that are also inimical to bees? I think I have read of recipes for fondant that included cream of Tartar. Is that bad for bees?
