Great selection Allen, I will add

likely to have the highest energetic demand, are also the ones with the
highest Nosema load (El-Shemy and Pickard, 1989; Higes et al., 2008) ..."

and these are the ones that bring in each afternoon the morning bread for
the hive, loaded with nosema spores.
