Spot on for the 50% Juanse, I fell into that trap too. Having thought about it I make it 59.9% sugar when you mix 1 kg with 1 l water, but never mind, perhaps that's the Southern Hemisphere effect.
How did you calculate the change in volume on addition of oxalic acid?
