Trees too - e.g. parts of Birmingham (UK) are noted for Lime (Tilia) honey -
bees thrive there. Unfortunately, many floral display beds use
double-flowered varieties which are of little use to bees.

I have had personal experience of bees taking the concentrates used for
producing soft drinks - bright red and green honeys.
