Thanks Grant, it's tidbits from unusual situations like this that help us to
figure out why colonies behave as they do. I've been wondering if there is
a feedback of some sort that lets the colony know that it needs to produce
more population.
Bob (I hope that you had good luck fishing!), you're also in Missouri. What
do you see happening in your colonies in winter (those that aren't out here
in Calif)?
