plant
which I cant remember at the moment.
Rhododendron ponticum. Pontus was an ancient kingdom in Asia Minor. The
first military historian, Xenophon tells how in about 400BC a retreating Greek
mercenary army left 'presents' of this honey for their Persian pursuers
who pigged out on it and suffered as a result, giving the Greeks time to
make good their escape.
Yet another example supporting the adage that one should "beware of Greeks
bearing gifts."
