I would qualify this statement slightly.  EFB is now found in around 3% of
colonies inspected by the bee inspectors in England and Wales, compared with
around 0.2% from the 1950s right through to the mid 1980s-an increase in
recorded incidence of more than times ten.  Here in North Yorkshire the
reported incidence of EFB has gone from a long term value of zero reported
outbreaks per year, to a level  in 2009 copmparable with that in
Dorset-which Chris Slade reported recently on this line as being an area
with the highest incidence.
