Ahoy, Peter.
Hummmm. What an interesting musing.
For the first time this year, I too planted buckwheat ("mancan" variety) to
help out my bees at my homestead; I used my mule team, a John Deere 2440 and
a disc-harrow, although I planted only a few acres.
I wish I had more cropland for alfalfa so I can feed my bees and my wife's
horses, as well.
Just out of curiosity, how many of you plant or have planted buckwheat? If
you did, has the market been favorable for the "axle grease" (honey) as it
should?
I always prefer the dark meat.
