The article in today's NY Times is far more sympathetic than most, but does contain a few knee-slappers: "But the life of a wild honeybee in the city is a rough one. Mr. Planakis says the average lifespan is about 28 days, nearly all of them consumed with work. Honeybees kept on a farm live longer, perhaps three or four months."
