The patterns are generally starkly

I do drone brood removal for control and have sampled a considerable number
of cells. I find the mite distribution to be quite erratic, often times
clustered in various areas. I think it very unreliable to judge mite
population on less than a couple hundred cells in more than one or two
areas. Not sure why these congregation areas exist.
