> WASHINGTON, September 14, 2009 - Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack today
>announced that producers may begin applying for benefits under the
>provisions of the Emergency Assistance for Livestock, Honeybees...
I received notice of the farm bill package from earlier this summer.
In the last 2 months, I've been to the USDA office twice with my
inquiries. Second time, they obviously hadn't done anything, and
forgot to even research the bill. Person swore to make himself a
note. Still haven't heard 3 weeks later.
First time in, person thought I might need an insurance policy to
qualify. ???? Why would I need the USDA if I had an insurance policy??
The bill is supposed to cover emergency feed for honeybees. Feed
needed due to adverse weather conditions, and until feed becomes
available. So, this year...terrible honey crop in the Northeast. Not
much Goldenrod for winter feed. Feed bill is way up.
So, anyone know the details of this program? Will we get help paying
for the tanker of syrup we had to buy? Or do we have to have some
insurance policy?
Mike
