Made no sense to me either. Using antibiotics as a prophylactic makes no sense.
I would consider using Fumidil only for a confirmed case of Nosema
Cerana. The USDA autopsy of my dead outs ruled out Nosema. If they
hadn't I might have considered using the antibiotic since it was
clearly "prescribed".
For foulbrood, well, my mentor had it once... and he burned. I
continually change out my wax. I have none over four years, and I'll
be changing that this spring.
