I have never ran 8 frame equipment but anyone I know that has always claims the bees build faster and do better.And I must say I know 2 different guys running it. 
 When honey crops are not that good, they always have better ones than the rest of us around the same area. Maybe there just better beekeepers ,or maybe it's the 8 frame equipment.One is about 1200 hives the other about 1500.
 Just food for thought.
