Dr Zachary Huang tried microwave wavelengths that would appear to have an
effect on the mite.  He found them ineffective--likely because the mite is
so small that the heat absorbed by the water dissipated quickly.  He
presented at the American Bee Research Conference in Sacramento this winter.
