Right. Could be, maybe even probably is. But the genetic makeup of the bees
who have exhibited this problem is extremely varied, including bees from
several continents. Efforts to find excessive inbreeding in Australia and
the US have failed to bear fruit in this regard. It is simply conjecture to
suppose there is a genetic link to colony collapse of any sort. I don't say
the solution to bee health issues is not genetic, most likely it is. A
healthier bee would make all of our work easier. Even if our bees are not
overly inbred, it seems obvious that more diversity would be beneficial
