Studies show that intermixing of bee populations does not occur as simply as
one might expect.
The samples I have seen show that unrelated populations which are located in
yards adjacent to one another may or may not interbreed to any great extent.
The reasons may be many. Some obvious reasons may be the timing queen
rearing and of mating flights, choice of drone congregation areas and mating
paths or heights...
