brood frames down to bottom box and gave them a full frame
of SC foundation on top. Same result, bees totally rebuilt
it to the same mess.

Geeh, sorry to hear you had problems following what Dennis
suggested for drawing out SC. But hearing this, perhaps you
should contact Erik Osterlund in Sweden or Hans-Otto
Johnssen in Norway for learning how to get it drawn out
properly as they have done so okay with help from me. Then
with hands on and actual seeing maybe you will learn what
to do better.
