They also say - I have never tried it - that honey that's mostly privet has a very bad taste and is not liked by humans. There is an area of Long Island generally called the Hamptons where tall privet hedges [and expansive cedar-shingled houses!] are quite common. I imagine if one kept hives there, one could get a lot of privet in the frames.
