Just what does the test measure anyhow?
My recollection is a survey published in the AB Journal last year
indicated many hives across the USA have some AFB spores present
but not neccesarily have a full blown foulbrood problem.
The test might measure some threshold of spores present but is that
threshold a problem level that requires intervention?
So it's unclear to me what a postive test would be telling the user to
do.... we certainly don't need more beekeepers dumping antibiotics
into hives as a preventative FB treatment.
I'm not sure I would be burning frames either based on a "test" before
I actually saw infected larvae.
