It leaves a long greyish-white stripe down their back.
I have some of this Impatiens glandulifera by me in NY. It is mostly visited by bumble
bees although this year (ample with rain) I also see honey bees going into the flowers.
This plant is supposed to be excellent source of nectar but I believe this is only the
case in wet areas. Last year was dry and I did not see honey bees on it despite many
bumble bees.
There is a lot of jewel weed by me, too. I can't say that I've seen honey bees on it
although there may have to be special soil/rain requirements for this.
