I would remind everyone that where you keep bees will have a great effect on 
bees.

I latitude will play into bee behavior due to day length and temperature.

Finland like other northern climes have very long summer days while some 
place like Italy will have considerably shorter days in the SUMMERS.
 Maybe the longer days allow for more foraging times and recovery days.

It all comes down to what is the lesser of the evils--varroa +tracheal mite 
damage or treatment damage
