There are several ways to deal with hot hives. The hard part is getting
into them first. The easisest way to get into one that I found so far it to
slid it down the hive stand and put a different hive in it's place on the
stand. The hot foragers move into the new hive, leaving the hot hive less
guarded. A day or two later you can open the hot hive pretty much
unmolested. As new foragers mature, the hive grows hot again, but you have
a window to get into it the dispatch the queen. I have not tried this with
Africanized bees. (yet)
