I've been thinking about some of the
previous mails re OA
As others have said, often 1 treatment is
enough for the whole year
That is, after a winter treatment, there
will be <500 mites the next fall
Most hives can withstand this
Given that:
a mite generation is 1/2 month (or a little more)
each generation doubles (")
at least 12 generations are possable
Well 2^12 is 4K... minus say 3/4 mortality?
This strongly suggests that an OA treatment
kills ALL the mites or else there would be
more in the fall
Can anyone point out error in my logic?
