I completely agree with Michael Palmer that the answer to the threat of 
AHB is local-in this case-Northern queen and package production.  And 
since most agree that all beekeeping is local any locally produced bees 
should work better in your locale for many reasons.  I am very sure that 
those of you with the resouces to produce Northern packages, will be 
rewarded with a very large group of eager customers.
It is a lot of work but I bet it pays better than selling honey.
