Mark's reply: Perhaps not, Mike. We had a case here in NY where, on this list, someone put out the idea that they had been stung by AHBs and they didn't report it to the apiary inspection program and therefore no samples were obtained to verify one way or another. Turns out the beekeeper depopulated the colony(ies) himself.
