At times, during the many discussions about bee stings, someone will mention that being stung in
the eye can cause blindness. Others will sometimes mention that the chance of being stung
directly in the eye itself, due to the almost instantaneous blink reflex, is so rare as to be almost
nonexistent. Then the discussion can get heated and even theatrical. A lot of people have been
stung around the eyes and on the eyelids themselves, though (including yours truly).
