>>I have seen over the last 40 years of keeping bees myself European bees on very very rare occasions with the aggressive genes AHB is noted for.
I've wondered what has prevented Scut genes from migrating up through the Middle East and into Europe? There are several strains of bees in North Africa but I believe they differ from AHBs. Could the Sahara desert be such an effective barrier?
It's amazing how fast AHB has spread in the Americas!
