Why clean wax from queen excluders? Bees will more readily pass through an
excluder if some burr comb is present to act as a ladder on a bound
excluder. Bees must go to the effort of building new burr comb if it has
been removed. Of course if the excluder is more than 50 percent covered
with wax, it would make sense to remove it.
Do most beekeepers remove wax from excluders every year?
