If you have an observation hive, you would then start with a hypothesis. Then mark a goodly number of your field bees just like we do our queens. You might even use four or five different colors so that you could detect recruitment of different bees from your observation hive. Have two people doing the observations, one at the observation hive and one at the target "nectar" source. I could go into detail but part of the fun is figuring out how to conduct your experiment.
