I do not doubt that you had a serious reaction, and I am sorry that
anyone has to go through something like that, but the main arteries of
the neck are far too deep for a stinger to reach.  In fact I have been
trying to figure out, excepting for perhaps ankles and wrists, where an
artery lies under thin enough skin to get an intra-artery dose of bee
venom.
